Pokemon Legends: Arceus did the same with Pokemon like Ursaluna, a creature that evolves from Ursaring in the Hisui region, but one that was missing from mainline games thus far. Another example comes from regional forms, which have been a staple of the series since their debut in Pokemon Sun and Moon. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will almost surely have regional forms as well, but none have been officially revealed so far.

A recent alleged leak surfaced online regarding Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, this time featuring a regional form for Cherubi, the Grass-type Pokemon from Generation 4. Normally, Cherubi is a cherry-like critter, but this new alleged regional form makes look more like grapes, possibly hinting at a different evolution or a regional form for Cherrim as well. The supposed “leak” was posted on Reddit by a user called s_samuu, and it comes with a picture of a verdant field where multiple Cherubi are happily wandering around.
The model seems to be very detailed, which makes it credible on one hand seeing how Game Freak designed the various new Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that have been showcased thus far. On the other hand, however, some fans were quick to point out that this specific Cherubi has a more detailed shadow than those of the Pokemon shown in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailers when it comes to in-game footage. This detail could be what tells this regional form apart from the official Gen 9 critters, but at this point, it’s quite difficult to tell how legit the design really is. Considering this, fans should take this supposed “leak” with a massive grain of salt.
Recently, a known Pokemon leaker hinted at Fuecoco’s evolution in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet retaining some features of the starter, as well as that of Sprigatito being bipedal. It’s not impossible to think that Cherubi is getting a regional form in Generation 9, but ultimately an answer on the matter can only come in time.
