Thus far, Treyarch has revealed nothing regarding the game’s new multiplayer content. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 3 teaser focused entirely on hyping up Call of Duty: Warzone content, and while the 1980s Verdansk map seemingly being confirmed is exciting, fans have also been wondering what the third Season has in store for traditional multiplayer. As such, leaker TheGhostMW on Twitter has provided some potential information.

With players regularly requesting more 6v6 content in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the tease that two traditional maps could be coming in the next Season is exciting. However, TheGhostMW does warn fans that the source for their information is not their usual insider. As such, while TheGhostMW’s past leaks have proven credible, the fact even they seem skeptical about should raise some red flags. Still, the leak seems to be believable enough based on known information.

Echelon has been in the game’s code since Season 1, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have been wondering when the map would show up. Rumored to take place on the roof of a building site, the map has been compared to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC map Vertigo. In fact, some insiders have stated that it could be a reimagining of that same map.

The other leaked map, Standoff, should be instantly recognizable to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players. One of the launch maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the memorable location saw players fighting through a rural town. The map has since appeared in Call of Duty Mobile and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3; the latter appearance taking on a western theme. With Raid and Express proving incredibly popular with players, Standoff will likely be welcomed with open arms if it comes.

It is also worth noting that one of these two maps could be saved for the midseason update instead of arriving right as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 3 launches. With even the leaker being uncertain, though, players should not get their hopes up until Treyarch officially announces the maps are on the way.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
