This leak comes from YouTube channel Hayder Hype, which has accurately leaked Borderlands 3 news in the past. Hayder Hype is going off audio files that originated from CruddyBorderlandsTheories, though it’s possible these files are for something else besides Borderlands 3 DLC 2. For example, we can’t rule out the possibility that these Borderlands 3 audio files are for scrapped content, a future DLC beyond DLC 2, or a seasonal event.

The audio files indicate that Borderlands 3 DLC 2 will take place on an asteroid, where players will visit a bar. The main quest will involve helping the bartender’s son Cal, who has joined a cult called The Second Stars. The Second Stars have the belief that they are able to “think things into existence,” with one example being that they expect their followers to survive in fire by simply believing that it won’t hurt them.
Borderlands 3 players will have to join The Second Stars to rescue the bartender’s son, and this will involve completing a series of trials, including one where players have to survive in fire. They will be scolded by a new recruiter character when they switch off the flames, as that’s “cheating,” and there will also be a new medic character that players interact with as well. It will ultimately be revealed that a Vault Hunter is running The Second Stars, though their identity remains a mystery at the time of this writing.
Borderlands 3 DLC 1 was all about Mad Moxxi and Handsome Jack, and DLC for past games have centered around specific, pre-existing characters as well. Considering this, it seems likely that Borderlands 3 DLC 2 will also be about a character that players already know, so it will be interesting to see who the Vault Hunter turns out to be - assuming that this content gets finished and is in fact what’s planned for DLC 2.
Luckily, players don’t have to wait much longer to find out if there’s any truth to this Borderlands 3 leak. Barring any cancellations or changes, Borderlands 3 DLC 2 will be revealed at PAX East on February 27.
Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
