An October 15 launch would put Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s launch prior to the likely November release of either the PS5 or Xbox Series X. That’s in line with Ubisoft’s language about the game’s release, as it’s known that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will have Smart Delivery on Xbox Series X. That means that those who purchase the Xbox One version of the game will receive a free upgrade for the next-gen console.
It’s also noteworthy that both Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins, Valhalla’s two predecessors, both released in October. To be fair, Odyssey launched in early October and Origins in late, but October nonetheless. However, both games were launched on a Friday. October 15 in 2020 will be a Thursday.
Ultimately, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is probably going to launch in October. Whether it’s October 15 or another date is certainly worth questioning. And as a result, this leak is highly unreliable. Considering the COVID-19 pandemic could through off retail shipping even going into the late fall, release dates are all the more suspect. Ubisoft will make Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s release date official as it’s able.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla releases later this year on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
