Hayne captured the attention of football fans during the preseason with his great play and unique backstory. The former rugby league star had 25 carries for 175 yards, three catches for 35 yards, a kick return for 33 yards and 10 punt returns for 163 yards during the preseason.

He made the team’s active roster, but didn’t contribute much during the regular season. He appeared in six games and finished with eight carries for 25 yards and returned eight punts for 76 yards.
Hayne might get some looks from other teams after his impressive preseason, according to CSN Bay Area. A return to the 49ers after Hayne clears waivers also remains a possibility.
