Back facing the Twins on Monday, where the elder Rally Mantis passed away on Aug. 12, the Royals announced that Junior will no longer be traveling with the team.

While a praying mantis can live up to six months, the Royals will have to live vicariously through a series of mantis merchandise in the form of toys, masks and T-shirts worn by fans at Kauffman Stadium for a stretch run including 14 more home games.
At least one division rival will be glad to know the sideshow insect has moved on.
Even if the mantis is gone, “The Official Rally Mantis Song" will live on forever.
