Every year on Father’s Day, MLB players don blue in honor of dads and prostate cancer awareness. This year, Royals catcher Martín Maldonado took the Father’s Day honors a step further by wearing a clip-on tie over his chest protector.

A closer look reveals the tie features names of several assumed fathers, along with the logo of “All-Star,” the manufacturer of catcher’s gear.

The veteran catcher’s tie game was so strong, it propelled him to excel at the plate, too.

And now, some tie wordplay:

— Tie goes to the runner. Or catcher, I guess.

— “There’s no tying! There’s no tying in baseball!”

— No matter what the score is, this game will be all tied up.

— It’s OK if the Royals lose. You can’t win(sdor) ’em all.

Someone get this man some khakis, a grill spatula and a pair of Nike Monarchs to complete the set.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there.
