“I’ve decided to move on to the next chapter of my life and enter my name in the 2015 NBA Draft,” Hollis-Jefferson said during a joint press conference with Wildcats coach Sean Miller. “After talking with my family and coach Miller to weigh the pros and cons, I fully believe this is the right choice.
“I’m excited for the challenges that lie ahead, and with the knowledge that God rewards hard work, I plan to attack them.”
Hollis-Jefferson, at 6-7, 215 pounds, profiles as a mid- to late first-round pick in this year’s draft. He led the No. 5-ranked Wildcats in rebounds (6.8) and blocks (0.8) this season, while also averaging 11.2 points per game.
Arizona, which advanced to the Elite Eight before losing to national runner-up Wisconsin, also reportedly will lose junior forward Brandon Ashley to the NBA. Ashley has not yet announced his decision.
