Rousey and her husband Travis Browne recently released a YouTube video that started off with the two of them walking. Rousey then goes, “Oh?” in a manner similar to what happens when an egg is about to hatch in the Pokemon video games. The video then transitions to a Pokemon-like cartoon egg shaking, complete with background music that sounds exactly what one would hear in Pokemon as well. The egg then cracks open, revealing a 3D ultrasound picture and confirming Rousey’s baby to be a girl.

The rest of the video is bloopers of Ronda Rousey and husband Travis Browne, in addition to some shots of their farm animals. The thumbnail takes the Pokemon references a step further, though, taking inspiration from the Pokemon anime series by swapping “Who’s That Pokemon?!” with “What’s That Gender?!”
Considering Rousey’s reputation as the “Baddest Woman on the Planet,” some may be surprised to learn of her Pokemon fandom. As it turns out, Ronda Rousey is a longtime video game fan, having served as a moderator on a Pokemon forum when she was a teenager and expressing her love of classic games like Jak & Daxter and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Rousey is also known to be an avid player of World of Warcraft as well.
Recently, Rousey has even tried her hand at streaming video games, starting a Facebook game streaming career last year where she streamed Pokemon Sword and Shield, the latest main series Pokemon games. With Rousey streaming Sword and Shield and using Pokemon to help announce the gender of her baby, it’s safe to say that she will likely remain a Pokemon fan for the foreseeable future.
Rousey has even found herself featured in some video games, including UFC and WWE titles. She even appeared as Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11, though her voice performance earned a mostly negative reaction from fans.
