Ronaldo may have a lot of respect for Sir Alex Ferguson for ‘teaching me the game’, but the Portuguese has warned Manchester United, saying that he would go all out to knock the English side out of the Champions League.

The Real Madrid striker has managed an incredible 179 goals in 178 games, after joining the Galacticos in 2009. He knows that he will be the central figure of the match, once he returns to Old Trafford for the first leg.

Comparing the team Ronaldo is currently playing with, and the team he used to play for, he says “In my opinion, Real Madrid have a better team, although we have to show that on the pitch because United are a very united team and always have been in recent years.” He says that the match will be an emotional one as he played with the English side for six years and, during that time has made a lot of friends.

Manchester United left back, Patrice Evra hopes that Ronaldo’s emotions works in his favour to help him in his personal battle with his former teammate. Evra says “It will be emotional for Ronny because he loves Manchester United. I hope the emotion will get to him. That will be perfect for us.” The Frenchman went on to say “So, let’s just be nice. We can say “Welcome home, Ronny. It’s so nice to have you back, we love you, you are the best player! We can kill him with love. We have already been texting each other. I hope he will get a great ovation because what he did for United was unbelievable. I miss him, too.”

In a recent interview, Ronaldo said that he always wanted to face his former club and that he has a great deal of respect for Sir Alex Ferguson. He said “Sir Alex taught me the basics of football. I arrived in Manchester when I was only 18. He managed my career in the best possible way, and for me he is one of the most important people in football. I still have an excellent relationship with him and it will be nice to see him again” Ferguson had acquired Ronaldo from Sporting Club de Portugal, in 2003, for about £13million.

Ronaldo, currently 28, had helped Manchester United win three Premier League titles, a Champions League title, two Football League titles, an FA Cup, a Community Shield and also a Club World Club title.
